I was born March 25, 1970, in Des Moines, Iowa, and moved to Chicago when I was young. I always dreamed of being a lawyer as a way to help people. I grew up going to Iowa Hawkeye games, and loved Iowa City as a perfect college town and community. Most importantly, the State of Iowa and the people of Iowa always felt like home and a family. I decided to go to the University of Iowa for my undergraduate work. I graduated with a business degree with honors in Finance and an emphasis in marketing and a minor in Sociology. While I had other law school opportunities, I decided to stay in Iowa City to get my law degree wherein I graduated with high distinction from a top 20 law school. Everybody assumed I would go back to Chicago, but I felt I would be a better lawyer and person coming back to my roots. So after I graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law, I started working at the Duncan Green Law Firm in Des Moines and was there for over 20 years and was an equity partner the past 16 years. I then decided to start my own firm with a best friend, Jamie McBride, a prominent lawyer from Texas. We believe that our partnership and care to our clients is a perfect fit. Jamie and I are not just business partners, we are best of friends, where our word is our bond, which is something sorely missing at times in today’s world.
I have represented global companies in the fields of insurance, financial, agricultural, manufacturing, automotive, shipping, construction, oil and gas, technology and aviation. I have done so in numerous multi-million dollar cases in litigation and trial with very favorable results. I also took great pride in representing local smaller businesses, and most important, individuals who felt they were wronged. When I decided to start Obermeier and McBride, I knew I wanted to keep all my relationships and my clients came with me. We do not guarantee results, but what Jamie and I do guarantee is we will work beyond hard for you and be nothing but honest. Our firm is based on honesty and hard work for our clients. And if we do not have an answer to your question, we will get it for you. Nobody has all the answers, but we will get it for our clients. We decided there is only one word to describe our firm. Trust. Without that, there is no good relationship. And that is what Obermeier McBride want and demand, a trusting relationship with the results and outcomes to follow that relationship.
